“Bellini Splash”, formerly Parisienne Pretty Silkstone Barbie Doll has had a complete makeover. Her facial paint was carefully removed and her hair shampooed and permed. She has been repainted with professional quality acrylic paints and her hair restyled. Her gown is cut from a beautiful metallic brocade of soft peach and rose gold, and then hand beaded with thousands of 2mm Swarovski crystals and shell lustre delica beads.

 “Decked Out”, a OOAK Silkstone Barbie® doll has had a facial paint enhancement with Golden professional quality paints and sealer and her hair has been permed and styled in an updo.

Her evening gown is cut from custom printed crepe de chine silk fabric,  lined with china silk.  Her gown is hand beaded with hundreds of delica beads and micro sequins and has zippered skirt with crystal buttons over snaps back closure for the bodice.  Accessories include a faux fur wrap lined with fabric matching the gown, Swarovski crystal earrings, multri-strand Swarovski necklace and serpentine bracelet.  She carries a Swarovski crystal pendant/clutch and has a crystal embellished crown/fascinator.

Last spring a friend commissioned me to create Claire in the Outlander “red dress” … challenge accepted, bodice, back lacing, shoes and all.

Convention is over and I’m starting to catch up on rest so posting my final contribution … after going to Venice in May, I was inspired by Atelier Antonia Sautter, an Italian designer of period costumes.  Window shopping all the wonderful designers from Chanel to Prada in Venice, we came across a fabulous display of her work which changed my thought process for my live auction doll.  Here are a few photos of the final result, with proceeds going to UMOM of Phoenix, AZ.
